The Coolest F*%&in' Golf Hole Ever

You won't believe this par-3 at the Legends Golf & Safari Resort in South Africa.

You thought the 17th island green at Sawgrass was difficult? Well, it aint got nothing on this guy.

That's because the hole is 1,410 feet down....that's right...down.

Players are helicoptered up onto a cliff a quarter mile above the ground for the their tee shot and then the chopper drops them off back down by the green where their ball - hopefully - lands...30 seconds after it's hit.

The course is designed by 18 professional golfers including Vijay Singh, Retief Goosen and Padraig Harrington.

It's not actually a part of the course and it's a separate fee to play their "Xtreme 19th" hole, but boy does it look cool. Bonus: A hole in one bags you the title of Most Xtreme Golfer On Earth and a million bucks!

SportsbyBrooks does a pretty cool job of talking about the physics behind a golf shot that travels for 30 seconds before it hits the ground and wonders what sort of back-hoe you might use for divot repairs. What I wanna know is how the hell do you account for wind on a drop like that!?!

Here's a video of Harrington and Raphael Jacquelin playing the hole a couple weeks ago....soooo f'in cool!
